Encore Award Recognizes a business leader or a corporation for outstanding support of arts and culture in Rhode Island or for an innovative partnership between business and the arts.
Small Business Award Recognizes a small business owner or a small business with fewer than 100 employees for outstanding contributions and in-kind services to Rhode Island's arts and cultural community.
Jabez Gorham Award Recognizes outstanding arts/cultural/educational organizations in Rhode Island for unwavering commitment to excellence, significant impact on the community, and success in organizational development. To be eligible, arts/cultural organizations must have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status.
Individual Achievement Award Recognizes outstanding individual achievement in the arts and/or individuals who by their commitment to arts and culture that have enhanced the quality of life for Rhode Islanders.
BVA/RI Volunteer of the Year Award Acknowledges the personal accomplishments of an active volunteer working within the BVA/RI volunteer program.
Arts Advocate Award Recognizes the commitment and leadership of an individual who has enhanced the opportunities for artists and/or organizations in Rhode Island.

Artists and Crafters to Create Art Experiences at Encore Awards
The Arts & Business Council of RI(A&BC/RI) seeks to showcase visual artists of Rhode Island during its annual Encore Awards on April 30th. The event pays tribute to Rhode Island's best and brightest in the worlds of arts and business. Fabulous entertainment, and delectable cuisine complement the awards of excellence, creating an evening and an event that you won't soon forget.
This year the event will take place on Friday April 30th at 6pm at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School Carter Center for Music Education & Performance, 667 Waterman Ave. East Providence, RI. The event usually attracts between 600-750 guests.
Call for Work-One Night Only Exhibition at the Encore Awards

A&BC/RI is looking for 2D or 3D works of any style or medium that can be hung “salon style” (you will need hooks on the back of the piece or a way to hang this way). Since the Carter Center is a school, no works of inappropriate content, nudity or swear words can be accepted, as they will be hung a few days before the event. Space is limited, and accepted artists will receive a complimentary ticket to the event. Work must be for sale, and sales of work will be encouraged. A split of 60/40 (60% going towards the artist, 40% A&Bc/RI) will be taken in the event of a sale.

Work can be of any medium and must be no larger than 5’ x 5’ and weigh less than 30lbs. Send three jpegs (72.dpi, labeled last name_01, last name_02, etc. ), a few paragraphs about the work and yourself, titles of work, medium, date and price to: Rebecca@artsandbusinessri.org. Please label subject of email “Encore Awards Art” and send by April 2. You will be notified by April 8th of your acceptance and given details for drop off and pick up at that time.
Call for Artists and Crafters to Create Art Experiences at Encore Awards

Do you have a crafty, delightful and interesting project that attendees of the Encore Awards can create with you in a short period of time? We are looking to provide art experiences for our guests at this annual celebration of the creative community of Rhode Island. In addition, you will be able to promote and sell your work. This is a great opportunity for you to introduce our guests to the work that you do as a Rhode Island artist or crafter.
The “experience” could be making small pins, mail art, beaded jewelry, papercraft, stamping, watercolors, hat making….you tell us what you create and can share. Selected participants will receive a stipend of $75 for materials. Tables and chairs provided at the event.
