Established in 1967, the RI State Council on the Arts (RISCA) is charged by the state legislature to stimulate public interest and participation in the arts and to serve as the liaison to the state arts community.
The National Arts Marketing Project was created by the Arts & Business Councils (ABC) of New York and Chicago with a $1.5 million four-year (1997-2000) grant from American Express to assist non-profit arts organizations to increase their earned income by helping them acquire the skills needed to expand their audience. Its goal is to offer marketing training to over 1,000 small-and medium-sized non-profit arts organizations in eight cities across the U.S.: Chicago, New York, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Atlanta and Miami. This groundbreaking effort also provides financial support to select organizations to assist them in implementing their newly developed marketing plans.

The Metropolitan Life Foundation was established in 1976 by MetLife for the purpose of supporting various educational, health and welfare, and civic and cultural organizations. The primary objective of the Foundation is to assist tax-exempt organizations through a program of financial support, particularly in the communities in which MetLife has a major presence. Our goals are to strengthen communities, promote good health and improve education. The Foundation continues a tradition of corporate contributions and community involvement begun by MetLife at the turn of the century.
